Sighisoara Citadel

Leaving Tirgu-Mures in the morning, we arrive in Sighisoara around one hour later, park our vehicle and pay for car park (included).

We take a stroll in the city center so you can admire the outside of the citadel and the picturesque main entrance and after that we slowly make our way up the old stairs, under the entrance arches and towards the spectacular clock tower. Your guide will be permanently at your side showing you the quirks and the crannies of the fortification, making sure you notice the cobbles so you don't twist you ankle and explaining the rich history of the place. All at your own pace, as Sighisoara is built atop of a hill and the streets have not been changed much in hundreds of years (although modern plumbing, electricity and internet fibre have been installed throughout the fortress).

You will visit the clock tower (entrance not included), the old churches (if opened to the public), you will climb the old wooden staircase that leads up the hill to the Evangelical Church and the School. Build in 1654 (!) it originally boasted 300 steps but only 176 remain today as time and weather took its toll.

You can have lunch or refreshments in one of the many cafes and restaurants, see the rest of the place and head back to Tirgu-Mures in the afternoon, knowing that you have seen an awesome place and had an incredible time through this small slice of history.'
